Being the oldest engineering higher school in the Asian part of Russia, Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) has produced generations of graduates who have gone on to become leaders in all areas of society and industry. Since its foundation in 1896, TPU has always been a polytechnic institution with a wide range of research and higher education. 1. Environmental Engineering and Water Management
Description: The aim of educational program is training of highly qualified specialists of international level who will be able to meet the challenge of engineering survey for various construction projects.
MSc program delivers educational modules both in fundamental and applied areas. Thus it allows to train specialists of two types: practice-oriented type and academic (research) oriented type. Practice-oriented specialists are of particular interest for construction projects of petroleum industry, water sector and others. Training of academic-oriented specialists is caused by the unsolved scientific and methodological issues in the areas water management, engineering survey and regulatory in the area of environmental management.
During MSc program graduates acquire knowledge and skills in the area of hydrometeorological, geotechnical and ecological survey, monitoring of natural water bodies and water utilization system, numerical modeling of hydrological, hydrogeological and hydrogeochemical processes, regulations of water management and environmental engineering.
Educational process is realized by faculty and staff of Department of Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Hydrogeoecology and academic staff of Research and Educational Center “Water” with use of modern multimedia equipment and computer facilities, and unique laboratory equipment.

2. Environmental geochemistry
Description: At the Department of Geoecology and Geochemistry, we implement a program of specialists training in the field of geoecology and environmental protection. The program allows you to implement a comprehensive approach in environmental studies, involving geochemical monitoring surveys of natural environments (soil, aerosols, peat, etc.) and living systems (plants, animals, people). Specialists who have mastered this program can work in scientific and environmental organizations at various levels.
