The second meeting of the BRICS NU IGB will take place in Mumbai, India on September 27th, 2016. The meeting is organized as a part of the official programme of the Indian Chairship in BRICS.
The IGB meeting will provide a platform to assess the progress made since the 1st IGB meeting in Ekaterinburg, Russia and also to take further the BRICS NU project. It will also provide an opportunity to show the development of achievements of the project at the 4th Meeting of the BRICS Ministers of Education in New Dehli.
The second IGB meeting will be chaired by the current Head of the IGB, the Secretary (Higher Education) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India, Mr. Vinay Sheel Oberoi.
The agenda of the meeting is to be approved soon. It will include discussion of the ways of the support to be provided to the BRICS NU project by the national governments, reflections on the project’s progress, considerations on some normative documents of the BRICS NU as well as approval of the calendar plans of the six International Thematic Groups.
The meeting is, thus, expected to make a further important step towards a fuller implementation of this ambitious project.
