In frame of cooperation with BRICS Head of Department of Environmental Monitoring and Forecasting, Faculty of Ecology, Ass. Professor Marianna Kharlamova participated in 2020 Summer online meeting of BRICS NU International Thematic Group on Energy that was held on June 25, 2020. The meeting was arranged by National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute”, Russia.
Marianna Kharlamova presented information about new and perspective Master Program “Integrated Solid Waste Management” (ISWM) that could be used as a base for BRICS joint educational program. ISWM includes three modern knowledge areas - municipal solid waste management, hazardous waste management and rehabilitation of contaminated soils and industrial areas. The program includes the study of international experience in the field of efficient waste management, primarily the experience of Germany. Unique program unites the educational courses focused on processing of waste, the waste impact on the climate, the principles of organizing environmentally friendly low-waste production, environmental biotechnology and the accumulated environmental damage reducing.
In addition possibilities of MOOC using in educational process was discussed on the example of MOOC “Practical Tools of Solid Waste Management & Environmental Damage Reducing” that was developed on the base of Faculty of Ecology.
