The forum will be organized in Shanghai on May 25th-26th 2017 with the aim of discussion of the current problems of BRICS collaboration. The forum is organized within the frames of the Chinese BRICS Chairship.

The organizers expect the forum to attend around 60 experts, the list of whom would include senior government officials, diplomats, academics, think-tankers, entrepreneurs and mass media representatives from all five BRICS countries. BRICS Center will cover international airfare and accommodation in Shanghai for the invited participants.

The list of the themes for the discussion includes the following main topics:

• economic and trade cooperation, eg. BRICS cooperation on new rule-making in international trade and investment regime …

• financial cooperation, eg. programmes of the New Development Bank…

• education cooperation, eg. projects of the BRICS Network University…

• think-tank cooperation, eg. activity of the BRICS Think-Tank Council, establishing a research network of the BRICS think-tanks…

• main directions of the BRICS practical cooperation, eg. issues of  sub-regional cooperation among the BRICS…

BTTF will feature a series of keynote speakers throughout the forum. The invitation to the distinguished keynote speakers will be issued on the basis of their research expertise and practical experience.

A number of round-table discussions will enable think-tankers and politicians to discuss together current challenges of the BRICS cooperation and to suggest potentially influential policies to be implemented within the frames of the BRICS collaboration. Participation of the policy-makers will make the results visible and practically relevant. The results of the discussions will be delivered in a report format afterwards and will be made publicly available on the BRICS Portal (www.brics-info.org) as well as delivered to relevant ministries and commissions.
